Now accepting applications for the 2024 High Hopes Scholarship Programs.
At Berkeley Community Scholars, we offer two college success programs with one goal – completing a bachelor’s degree. The two programs are:
The Bachelor’s Degree High Hopes Scholarship Program (BDHH) is a college success program designed to provide advising, mentorship, career readiness, community support, and resources to motivated and resilient college-bound seniors from Berkeley public high schools. Scholars receive a scholarship of up to $16,000.
The Community College High Hopes Program (CCHH) is a college success and matriculation scholarship designed to help Berkeley public school graduates advance on a path to earn a bachelor’s degree that begins with community college. Through the CCHH Program, BCS awards scholarships that support educational costs during their time in community college. CCHH Scholars who are in good standing, have completed a transfer application, and have been admitted to an institution that provides a bachelor’s degree will be eligible to apply for the Bachelor’s Degree High Hopes Program scholarship funds of up to $8,000.
Scholarships are awarded based on demonstrated financial need, community involvement, and academic and personal achievement. Funds awarded may be used for tuition, books, room and board, and incidental expenses in connection with the recipient’s college education.
BCS prioritizes students with demonstrated financial need, who are first generation to college, and who identify as part of a group underrepresented in college degree completion.
