Narsai David, 1937 – 2024
Many remember him for his love of food, wine, and entertaining. We remember him for his kind heart and commitment to our community.
Narsai David was a founding board member of our organization in 1992 (then known as Berkeley Community Fund) and led it as board president for many years. We are deeply saddened by his passing in June 2024.
Narsai was an extraordinarily generous person, quietly contributing much to our organization and our scholars. After serving as President, he remained engaged with BCS, providing his food and wine expertise for our events, donating wine from his personal collection, and donating his legendary dinner parties to our auction. Together with his wife, Venus, he also supported our scholarship program and rooted for the success of our scholars. He was larger than life, and we are grateful for all of his contributions, not only to BCS but to the greater Berkeley community.
We send our deepest condolences and love to Venus and his son, Daniel.
