Annual Gala

  • October 6, 2018

  • 6:00 pm  to  10:00 pm

Each year the Berkeley Community Fund hosts our Annual Gala in October to celebrate our High Hopes Scholars and present the Benjamin Ide Wheeler Award to Berkeley’s “Most Useful Citizen.”

This year we’re thrilled to be honoring Susan Muscarella—the visionary founder, President and Dean of Instruction of the California Jazz Conservatory and Jazzschool. It will be a fabulous evening that includes a cocktail reception, an elegant dinner, award presentation, and music. Our theme is Connections, which are at the core of what we do.

Susan, true to this theme, has spent a lifetime connecting people to music. For over 20 years she has been an advocate for making the California Jazz Conservatory accessible to students of all ages and levels—from the beginner to the aspiring professional—by committing to nurturing diversity in all of its forms.

This fun and festive event is our most important fundraiser of the year. We count on the support of the community to help us raise funds for our organization by sponsoring a table or purchasing tickets. Your support will enable more Berkeley youth to succeed in college, provide them with opportunities to develop their talents and be a positive force in our community.
